It seems simpler to set up than Paypal. The thing that annoyed me most about Paypal was the amount of emails you had to send back and forth to obtain the account in the first instance. My account with Paypal was set up a long time back so maybe they have streamlined the service a little. The main complaint I heard on forums and in general on the net about Paypal were the fees they were charging for payments. Obviously they need commission to survive as a business but SKRILL doesn't charge these higher priced fees.
In this day and age many different payment services are required. In my opinion both Paypal and Skrill are useful in their own rights. In the past I noticed that many Americans prefered Moneybookers now know as Skrill over Paypal but in Europe as of last year Paypal seemed more popular.
To sign up with SKRILL and see what advantages it can have for you I suggest you try them out. They need to verify your identity of course but once you are verified you will be glad you started using Skrill (formerly Moneybookers).
